Great shots don't happen by accident. Capturing that split second in time, freezing the moment at its most intense, or making people feel comfortable enough to come alive for the camera are Tim Healy trademarks.

With a degree in commercial photography from Rochester Institute of Technology in his cap, Tim found himself shooting paradise in the Florida Keys in the early ‘80s. For the next couple of years, he dove for buried treasure with Mel Fisher and immersed himself in the laid-back Keys lifestyle. His real job was to find people having a good time, then shoot remarkable editorial photography, and write stories about them. Tough gig, to be sure.

However much fun that was, the lure of the Big Apple was far too great for a talent like Tim's, and he returned for the next 15 years to represent high-profile photography studios, and ultimately created his own successful Manhattan studio. In the late 1990s, Tim was faced with either staying in New York and taking his business to the next level or getting back to the "real world". Florida won out, and Tim returned to open a full-service, completely state-of-the-art digital studio in Tampa.

During his career, Tim has been the shooter for such corporate giants as Bell South, Capital One, Price Waterhouse Coopers, and Chase Manhattan, publications like Harper's Bazaar and American Banker, and also tickled great shots out of personalities like the CEO of New York Life as well as a Boston Celtic or two to name but a few. From 220-degree panoramas to evocative black and white portraits, Tim Healy is to a great shot what a scuba tank is to a diver--an absolute necessity.
